(More customer reviews)I heard about ice shot glasses from some friends and decided to buy molds to make some for my next big party. I loved the idea of the ice-cold shot, plus the idea that I could make a ton ahead of time and have people just toss them in the sink to melt - NO CLEANUP! .... Unfortunately I picked these "Ice Shot" molds (I picked them because most of the other molds I saw didn't actually hold a full shot's worth of liquid) ... but once I opened the package and saw the instructions I found that these glasses are NOT made to be un-molded, the are meant to be used with both the plastic cup and the layer of ice inside... which almost entirely defeats the purpose for which I purchased them. I made a batch and tried to take them out of the mold using a little warm water bath - but was unsuccessful. Sometimes I could get the glass out, but then the bottom was too uneven to sit down on a counter. I tried a second batch using a little vegetable oil in the mold first hoping that the ice wouldn't stick in the mold and I could get it to pop out that way... still no success.
The product is good for what it is... and if you know ahead of time that these little shot glasses won't pop out of the mold and you'll have to use them together to serve your shots then I'm sure you'll be satisfied. But if you're looking for an ice shot-glass that will stand alone (and melt away for no clean-up) then this is NOT the set for you.
