So when I was invited to test this product for BzzAgent I was thrilled at the prospect of minimizing the hideous job of scrubbing scum out of our shower. I hooked it up and to my glee it actually does what it is designed to do (mostly). I haven't had to scrub the shower floor since I got it (my most hated part of shower cleaning) but I have had to wipe down certain areas of the shower door that the spray misses and in the crevices of the door. All in all I'm pleased but don't expect to never have to clean your shower again (unless you have fairly low cleaning standards LOL). I would buy it again and I'm actually considering buying another for the kids shower. Just an FYI, there have been some good coupons out for this product in the Sunday coupon inserts so look for those!

(More customer reviews)Scrubbing Bubbles with its lemon scent cleans everything I want it to clean in my bathroom; and this is important because that's where a lot of germs can fester. I have used Scrubbing Bubbles for ages; and this product really works hard to clean which in turn reduces the amount of "elbow grease" you need to use to clean things.
First, READ THE DIRECTIONS AND WARNINGS ON THE CAN. Remember, this is not stuff you can just casually leave around for the baby to ingest! If used as directed, I find that Scrubbing Bubbles does a magnificent job cleaning all bathroom surfaces and it gets rid of soap scum easily. If you have mold and mildew, no problem! This'll cut it. If the mold and/or mildew problem is bad in your shower, just spray on Scrubbing Bubbles every day for a couple of weeks before you take a shower; and let it sit on the bathtub or shower walls for a couple of minutes. Then take your shower as you normally would; the water will wipe away the Scrubbing Bubbles--and a little bit more of the mold and/or mildew every time.
Scrubbing Bubbles with a lemon scent can be very useful during cold and flu season. It disinfects the surfaces as it cleans them; so it will fight tough stuff including staph and E.coli. Great!
There is one caveat: Scrubbing Bubbles Lemon Scent leaves a mild lemon scent after you use it. I personally like this; but if you are allergic to scents or perfumes I would recommend you use another product instead of Scrubbing Bubbles.

Overall, Scrubbing Bubbles with its lemon scent is one of the best things to use when cleaning bathroom surfaces; and it works well on fiberglass and vinyl, too. The product makers claim that this will clean stainless steel and chrome; but with stainless steel I would suggest you use a cleaner made to clean stainless steel specifically instead of Scrubbing Bubbles.

If you were previously doing nothing whatsoever to clean your shower on a daily basis, this product is a lifesaver.
If you were previously using the daily shower sprays by hand, your shower will be about 75% as clean with the automatic shower cleaner.
If you don't always have time to spray by hand, this product will keep your shower from getting unsightly in between thorough hand cleanings. But it definitely will not leave it immaculately shiny, squeaky clean. I would plan on cleaning the shower by hand from time to time if you want the sit-in-the-tub-for-a-bath level of clean.

(More customer reviews)Yes, this product doesn't cover the whole shower, but it works great where it hits. Mine is hung from the bottom of our shampoo rack. It cleans about half way down the door and the floor. Where it hits the door, the soap scum is completely gone (all 30+ years of it. There is no mold growing on the floor. Maybe if I got another one and hung it higher, the whole shower would be covered. . . I recommend this. It really cuts down on shower care.

(More customer reviews)This unit does what it is supposed to do for the most part when used as regularly as suggested. It nonetheless incurs costs above and beyond those you'd normally expect, and it doesn't cover as much of the shower/tub as I hoped it would. The unexpected costs are one of the primary reasons it scored so low.
For one, the unit is power hungry, and goes through batteries like no other device I've ever used. Expect one-and-a-half to two weeks, at most, from a set of brand new AA batteries. The instructions on the unit and the manual state not to use rechargeable batteries, but, being the experimental type, I tried them anyway. The unit played its 15 warning beeps and...didn't work. It worked fine when regular batteries were re-installed. Not being able to use rechargeable batteries is disappointing.
Another problem is the coverage area. It covers most of the shower in its spray, but misses the area about 1.5 feet above the tub/shower floor. This area will need to be cleaned as you normally would.
Finally, the unit uses a lot of fluid, or it evaporates very quickly. We went through two and a half bottles of fluid in a given month, running it once a day for two weeks, then cutting back to every other day when we saw how much fluid was used. Since the bottles cost $4 each or more, that's an unexpected cost that adds up quickly.
With its excessive power requirements, inconsistent spray area, and fluid usage, I don't think this unit is worth the money. The increased costs in battery consumption and fluid evaporation, as well as the coverage area, nullify any cleaning benefits provided. The only folks who benefit from this unit would be those who can't do the cleaning themselves due to injury or some other ailment. Otherwise, save the money and use elbow grease and a cleanser every other day or so.

After 2 applications, I was wondering why I spent my money on this. It did work well on the sink I cleaned, but no better than any other cleaning agent.

(More customer reviews)We purchased two of these over a year ago and have one in a shower and the other in a bath/shower stall. Both work well for awhile and then when the batteries still have half of their life left, the unit will quit working and you must replace the batteries. I've tested the batteries that I take out and they still show as good, but do not have enough juice left to make this work. There is no warning of low battery power, it just won't turn. It might beep, then nothing happens.
The refills are also way to expensive. About $4 each. We've taken to refilling the bottles with a product called Mist and Go that costs a dollar, from the dollar store, for a spray bottle that almost completely refills the bottles used for this. The caps don't come off easily to refill the bottles either, but with a little force they do eventually come off and can be resealed.
Have decided not to use this product any longer. Tired of paying for new batteries monthly and refill bottles if we don't have the Mist and Go on hand. So we will go back to hand spraying the shower and tub with the Mist and Go following each use.

The strap to hold it in, along with the double zipper, makes me feel safe and secure that the camera won't fall out. It even came with a screen cover to protect my camera. (More customer reviews)Like the previous reviewer, I received this item to review as a BzzAgent. My husband and I openly mocked this product when we opened the box, because if you're not somehow handicapped, it's pretty darn LAZY to have a spray cleaner with a motor.
THEN I used it, and all of my mockery evaporated. I'm a busy mom without a lot of time to clean, and I have to admit that the motorized sprayer is an INCREDIBLY useful feature. The spray comes out very fast and evenly, and I can easily cover the same dimensions in 1/4 the time of a manual sprayer. We're not talking a lot of time saved, but when you're as busy as I am, every second really adds up.
Obviously the convenience of the sprayer is only a small part of the product - the power of the cleaning is even more important! I'm very pleased with the performance of the product. It has been making good headway on years of soap scum buildup on my glass shower door. The smell is also very pleasant.
I am extremely pleased with this product and I probably never would have tried it without BzzAgent. Now I'm a convert and when I run out of cleaning solution I will definitely be purchasing refills.
The only con which loses it a star: The refills are specifically made and sized for the sprayer head. I can't use my own solution or refill the bottles. This is for obvious marketing reasons - Scrubbing Bubbles wants us to buy their refills, of course. However I don't care for the wasted plastic that this entails. I would at least like the option of a refill jug of solution that I can use to fill the smaller bottles myself.

(More customer reviews)This is a great idea, and in some ways it is a great product. It really does keep the shower clean, bright, fresh, and (I assume) sanitary, and it's easy to set up and use. The problem is that it turns out to be a disposable product. I use it about every three days, and I've just bought my third one in six years. So if you use it every day, don't expect it to last more than one year, which happens to be the warranty period. They just haven't figured out how to keep the cleaning fluid from getting inside and corroding the electronics.
I notice on this latest version (each one I've gotten has been slightly different from the last) they've put something that looks like Vaseline on the battery contacts, and they've included a little sheet warning you not to let liquids get into the battery compartment. That's the least of your worries. Even when the batteries stay dry as a bone, the cleaning fluid leaks eventually inside the appliance, where the motor, pump, valves, and control circuits are, and you can't even get into that part without special tools. Regardless of how careful you are with the batteries, there's no way to keep the fluid from eating out the guts of the appliance eventually.
When my first one failed after three years, I took it apart to find out why, and I was amazed that the thing had lasted as long as it had. Everything inside was wet; all the metal parts were corroded and disintegrating. So for the second one, I decided to take the appliance off the shower arm after every shower and store it upside down, so at least the fluid wouldn't be sitting on top of the valve between uses. I also removed the batteries and made sure the battery compartment was completely dry after every shower. Evidently it didn't make much difference; even with all that extra care, it died three years later just like the first one did. The leaking must happen as the fluid is being sprayed, so there's nothing we as consumers can do about it.
But I've accepted the fact that this is a disposable appliance. The price has declined steadily over these six years, so at less than 5¢ per use now, it's not bad at all. The cleaning fluid adds about another 15¢ per use; so with the few cents batteries add to it, paying less than a quarter each time not to have to clean the shower is worth it to me. I'll keep buying a new one of these every few years as long as they keep making them.
