CorningWare French White 15-Ounce Grab-It Dish with Cover Review

OVERALL: This product is a solid workhorse. I have six, and they are favorites for convenient storage of leftovers. They stack and are durable. Unlike plastic, the stoneware cleans completely and does not transfer odors. The size is right for 2 normal servings (~1 cup) or one super-sized serving (15 oz.) which can be frozen or reheated in the same container.
If this CorningWare's Grab-It dish still came with the original version's glass lid, it would definitely rate five stars. The current version, however--despite Amazon's product description, which mentions glass AND plastic lids--now comes with a single (opaque) plastic lid. Handy enough, but not as durable as the glass lid or as convenient.
FOR WORK: No one would expect a spillproof seal from the glass lid. I wouldn't count on it with this plastic lid, either. If you are taking something to eat at work that contains even a small amount of liquid, consider leaving this lid at home, and covering the Grab-It with Press N Seal or a similar film--you can poke a few holes in it to vent when reheating it. If you want to use the Grab-It cover, pretest it by filling with water and holdng it at an angle. The manufacturing tolerance for the lid vary. Yours may or may not leak.
AT HOME: For storage of leftovers at home, the glass lids were superior: You could see the contents. For this version, you may want to mark the date on the side using a whiteboard marker to avoid those ghastly green surprises when you clean out the refrigerator. You can also simply use a plastic film, but then you can't stack it.

This shallow 15-ounce dish is ideal for making individual desserts like crème brulee, serving and storing nuts, or keeping leftovers fresh. Made from sturdy glazed stoneware, it is durable enough to go from freezer to oven and stylish enough to look good on the table. A tight-fitting plastic lid keeps food covered in the fridge or freezer, and the lid features a large tab to make opening easy. The Grab-It dish is dishwasher safe and covered by a 10-year limited warranty.

K&H 96-Ounce Thermal-Bowl Outdoor Pet Feeder, Blue Review

I purchased this bowl for a feral cat colony (housed in a garage transformed into a strawbale "barn" for the kitties) and needed something that was sturdy enough to not be tipped over by a few of the cats who like to drink with their paws on the sides of the water bowl.
Living in Minnesota, a water bowl that would keep water from freezing is essential. In these parts the season known as "Fall" lasts approximately 12 hrs. The timeframe it goes from 78 to a daytime high of 38 the next day, with overnight lows in the 20's and 30's.
We've already had overnight lows (with windchill) in the low 20's and teens so I've had a chance to see how well the bowl would handle a dozen kitties as well as the cold temps.
Works like a charm. One day the water was frozen, I plugged in the bowl and no more frozen water the next day, and the weeks following.
If you have outdoor pets and cold overnight lows, this water bowl is what you need. Didn't seem to up my electric bill either which is nice.
Yes, I would recommend this item. Also, it took 1 week from time of ordering to arrive. I think they shipped the day after the order was processed, the only reason it took that long to arrive, was due to a weekend that fell a few days after I ordered.

I purchased these to make individual scalloped potato dishes for guests at Thanksgiving. What a hit! Everyone loved the idea and these were really adorable on the table. They baked, served, and washed beautifully without chips or scratches. I've already thought up several additional uses for them and can't wait to use them again. Considering donating my old white ramekins. These are a million times better.
