Intex 4,000-Gallon Filter Pump Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this unit to replace the smaller weak stock filter pump that came with my 18x48 easy set pool. This unit is VERY strong! It even cleaned up the debris off the bottom without even vacuuming the pool! I highly recommend this pump to anyone tired of messing with the under powered pumps that come with the easy set pools. Caution should be used around children however, as this pump could cause a suction hazard.

Turbo CO2 Bio System Review

(More customer reviews)Well, I hope I can save someone some time and frustration writing this review. I had some initial problems starting this CO2 system. First, I couldn't get any co2 coming out. I read the directions and it said give it 24 hours for the mixture to start working. Well, I waited for over 48 hours, and nothing. After reading some forums on the internet, I found that you're not supposed to use tap water/chlorinated water, because it kills the yeast. So, I put some stress coat/dechlorinater in the mix, added some more yeast and woo hoo, started working. But then, I had it on a timer, and when the timer turned the pump back on, it didn't work again. Then after messing around for quite some time, I found that there's a design flaw with the pump. When the timer turns the pump off, the co2 forms an air bubble or co2 bubble around the propeller of the pump and slowly leaks out the back of the pump. But, when the timer turns the pump back on, the propeller can't suck any water through because the propeller is just spinning in the air pocket, so no water or co2 is jetted through the nozzle. There for, I'm not able to put it on a timer. But, I really don't think that it matters, cause from what I've read, it's pretty hard to put in a harmful amount of co2 with units like this or the Haggen Ladder systems. I see though that the poster before me had luck putting it on a timer and I wonder how they've gotten theirs to work. So far it's been running for a couple weeks, and for some reason my plants look more pale. Maybe there's some other issue I have to address yet to get my plants going better, but for now I thought I'd give this system 3 stars. Hope this helps someone. Good luck.

(More customer reviews)After the breaking in period I have been able to get this skimmer to produce reasonably dry, dark skimmate. I don't have to adjust it much and it is surprisingly tolerant of small changes in the water level. It is working well for me in the refugium of a 30 gallon setup that I did not need aggressive skimming for. I don't notice too much of a microbubble problem but I don't have this in the main tank anyway. I think most people looking for a small skimmer for a nano system would be pleased with this product. The only downside is that the water inlet is not near the surface to help with surface skimming, but most skimmers overlook this.
I would like to add that although the description says "hang on tank or suction" it should more accurately say hang in tank or suction as it is an internal, submersible type skimmer.

Follow the directions when putting the boots on the dogs paw, that is, put two fingers inside the mouth of the boot and stretch the rubber opening wide enough to start the boot over the paw. (This gets easier with practice) 2. When the boot is on the paw, be sure that the boot has not rolled up over the mouth, arrange the mouth of the boot so it fits evenly around the ankle. 3. The mouth of the boot should fit around the ankle just under the dewclaw, the "balloon" of the boot should fit loosely around the paw to allow the paw to spread when the dog's weight is on the paw. 4.Turn the boots around so the wear is over all surfaces of the balloon. 5. THE BOOTS ARE COMFORTABLE AND THEY DO NOT COME OFF.
Mend the boots if a claw pokes a hole in it or a hole shows up from wear with a small piece of black electrician's tape. My dog walks 2 miles everyday on concrete sidewalks and is wearing the same pair of boots we started with two weeks ago. They are beginning to look like polkadot boots with black patches here and there but the boots are lasting a long time with the patches. Yes, Dixie loves the boots and can't wait for her walks as her paws do not get sore when she wears them.

Tetra Whisper Air Pump 10 Gal Tank Review

(More customer reviews)The last thing you want when sitting back and relaxing in front of your peaceful aquarium is the buzz or hummm of an air filter. We had and old (4 years) AQT 1000 which we had to unplug at night because of its peculiar humming.
So I asked the guy at the fish store which of the many air pumps is the quietest. "The Tetra Whisper Air Pump" he picked one up off the shelf and casually tossed it over my way.
Wow not much of and introduction. So I bought a different unit, well because I know better don't I? Sure. Two days later I retuned that one because it was competing with the refrigerator in the hum contest. And it was winning.
Sure enough this 'Whisper" is a very quiet unit. Peaceful and unobtrusive.
We have a 35 gal / 24" deep tank and the #10 gal Air Pump provides great bubble power.
I would recommend trying the lower powered ones for your tank and if need be working up to a higher stength if necessary. My friend has a #10 in his 50 gal tank and it pushes plenty of air for bubbles.
Tetra recommends an optional check valve to prevent water from siphoning back in case there is a power outtage. We just put a loose loop in the air hose behind the tank. But you may be safer with the check valve.
Quiet + powerful + reliable (We have had it for 9 months now) = Silencioso!

(More customer reviews)I hooked this air stone up to a 100 ga Whisper air pump along with the 48" flexible air tube. This puts out an enormous amount of bubbles for its size. I actually had to crimp the tube a bit to reduce the amount of air because the bubbles it was producing were dislodging my plecos from their perches under a stump. Definitely worth the purchase and it makes for an amazing show of bubbles under any decorations or amongst plants.
