(More customer reviews)Whether you like the smell or not I can agree with the other posters on one thing, the smell is pretty strong. There are two types of scents and I like the citrus scent better. The scent is so strong that all you need to do if you want to know if you like it or not is to sniff the box, you can literally smell the scent coming out of the box.
It's not too hard to use, you just stick a dollop of gel inside the toilet and leave it there until it washes away. What surprised me was the size of the disc. It's the size of a dollar coin, and I mean the size of an Eisenhower dollar, not the new ones. How long it last depends on how often you flush. I suspect SC Johnson estimated it based on a family of 4 flushing 2-3 times a day, but I can bet that most families go to the toilet more than that.
I've found that closing the bathroom door helps decrease the smell, but it's still pretty strong, especially when you're sitting on the toilet. The only time I felt grateful for the strong smell was when I laid an especially malodorous poop and the strong scent overcame it. So perhaps I'd recommend this gel to restrooms of restaurants specializing in chili or curry. Or it might work good for people with anosmia.
