Well I was so excited to find a cooler/lunch tote that I didn't need an ice pack. I followed the directions and what a piece of poo.... The first day I kept in refridgerator over night - since it says you can do that and it will keep it cold for hours... I took it out at 7:30 am and by 9 stuff was starting to warm up. By lunch my sandwhich was warm (12:30). So that night I put it in the freezer thinking that would help. Well it did - it didn't start to warm up until 9:30 - the bottom was still "cool" but the top and sides had warmed. Thankfully my lunch wasn't full of stuff that would spoil, becasue by noon it was warm. Also when I had frozen it it condinsates on the inside of the bag - be warned your stuff will get "damp" and wet. So on day three I put it back in the freezer then used my daughters small ice pack (it fits into a small lunch sack for kids). It still didn't help. The cooler it self doesn't "retain" the cold and the by noon everything on the top of the cooler was warm. The bottom was "cool" but not cold. Even with an ice pack. Normally the ice pack my daugther uses would keep her lunch cold until she eats at noon - she also has a good lunch box that keeps things insulated good - but the insulation in these is not good. Please, Please, Please - do not waste your money on these things. I was so disappointed. When I contacted the company I was told the lunch totes were not meant to be out in the "open" they were designed to keep your stuff cold until you could get to work and put it back in the refridgerator?????? I was in total disbelief! What is the point of that junk? Need less to say if I could have taken this junk back I would. A co worker also bought one and had the same problem - she even bought a bigger one than what I had. She really had problems - she is a breast feeding mom and needed to pump during the day to take the milk home at night our office has a very small refridgerator and not big enough for her or anyone else for that matter to keep much in it - needless to say her milk was spoiled by the time she got home. It was a very sad situation - any mom who breast feeds can understand that!!!!
Enough of me - I would be very, very careful if you buy one of these. It doesn't do as it says.

No ice needed with InnerCool Integrated cooling system coolers. The built in cooling system was compared to a regular cooler in the 6 can cooling version. A regular cooler and 6 can Zero Degrees InnerCool cooler were placed in a room at 72 degrees with six pre-chilled (40 degrees) soda cans inside. The temperature of the can was measured every hour for ten hours. The Zero Degrees cooler was consistently cooler by 10 degrees or more for over 10 hours staying close to the original 40 degree temperature. What makes InnerCool so cool is its specially engineered, extra layer of SuperCool gel. Your InnerCool cooler with the SuperCool gel layer can be frozen or refrigerated for awesome cooling power. The specially engineered layer allows the bag to be folded compactly and opened even when frozen. And InnerCool’s extra layer of SuperCool gel holds cold and keeps things colder, longer than other bag coolers.
