The size is a bit small i.e. only for 2 toasts at a time but for its price its value for money. In conclusion, highly recommended toaster.

Oster Fusion Blender - BRLY07B Review

(More customer reviews)I have had a Vita-Max for almost 7 years now. While the Vita-Mix can't be beat power wise it has some very important weaknesses. First it is very expensive. I paid almost $600 for mine. Second, if you use protein poweder in it you have to not only rinse it immediately, you have to blend water in it to clean the protein powder grit out of it so that it doesn't destroy the blade assembly. I have went through three blade assemblies in the last 7 years. This with following their directions for blending water in it after using it. Third, the plastic (polycarbonate) containers crack at the bracing points. I have went through 8 containers in 7 Years.
I bought the Oster Fusion because I wanted a simple blender for blended drinks and the like and I didn't want to have to worry about destroying the blade assembly. I have had the Oster Fusion for nearly 4 months now and I still love it. It is powerful, easy to use, great blender container and wonderful rubber seal lid. I have made not only blended coffee drinks, smoothies, milk shakes, slurpies, but have also made salsa, apple sauce, wheat berry pancakes and more in it and it works wonderfully. I am especially impressed with the blenders ability to chop things like salsa and applesauce in to consistent size peices. Not even my Vita-Mix could do that.
The only reason I am giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because you can't reverse the blender yourself, reversing is only done in the two pre-programmed modes. I would like to have a rocker switch that I could move back and forth to reverse and then forward the blades myself. The preprogrammed cycles work great for me. If you drop in a whole tomato or something that can't get down in to the blades of the semi-funnel shaped blender container then it isn't going to be able to blend it. I am for peices that are 1 to 1-1/2-inches in size and I have never had a problem.
As for blending drinks with ice, the instructions say to put the liquid in first and then the ice or ice like stuff (frozen fruit, etc.) I have no issues with this not working. In fact here are two recipes for you.
Ice-Cream Free Strawberry Milk Shake
2 Cups of Frozen Strawberries, thawed for 30 minutes
1-1/2 cups of Milk
1/2 Cup of Half and Half or Whole Milk
4 Packets of Equal
1 Tablespoon of Lime Juice
Place all of the liquids in to the blender container and then add the frozen berries. You want to thaw the frozen berries for about 30 minutes so that they aren't rock hard but still frozen. Use the pre-programmed Frozen Drinks and Shakes mode. As test to see if the berries are frozen but soft enough I use a meat mallet on them. If they can be smashed without a lot of hard heavy pounding they are ready. The frozen berries provides the freezing component to make the shake. It is also best to use really nice ripe berries. We buy berries each year when they are at their peak, prep and freeze them ourselves.
Salsa
2 whole fresh tomatoes (garden fresh are best, but use the best you can get)
1 Jalapeno, seeded and stem removed
1 Small/Medium Can Whole Green Chilies, Drained
1 Can of Diced Tomatoes with Chilies
3 Tablespoons Lime Juice
1/4 Cup Cilantro
1 Tablespoon Kosher Salt (use 1/2 as much or to taste for table salt)
1/4 Medium Red Onion, cut in to chunks
2 Cloves Garlic
Core the tomatoes and cut them in to 1 to 1-1/2-inch pieces and place them in the blender container. Seed and stem the jalapeno and cut in to 1/4's. Add the can of whole green chilies after you drain them. Use the Food Chop mode and then empty the blender container in to a large bowl. Add the canned tomatoes, cilantro, salt, lime juice, garlic and onion in to the blender container and use the Food Chop mode. Add this to the bowl, mix well and then taste. Adjust salt as needed. You can also add some black pepper if you wish.
As for other reviews, people need to understand that nothing made by man or women is perfect. You will (more often now-a-days then in times past) get a lemon, this is the price we pay for being able to get technology at rock bottom prices. Even at $500 plus the Vita-Mix isn't perfect either. Sometimes I think people either don't follow directions or have very un-real expectations. I love my Oster Fusion and I am not sorry I bought it.

Bought this at my local Costco for about $57 to replace my small toaster oven with one that was a little larger to accommodate larger dinner items in addition to doing toast. It's great as a small oven but REALLY terrible at making toast. Doing toast is bad with this unit because of the timer. It's just not accurate nor sensitive enough to make adjustments to browning. The timer is an old mechanical tic-toc, spring variety and can be set up to 1hr. To make toast, you turn the timer to 20 minutes first, then dial it back to the lowest "Toast" settings, but the first click is about 6 minutes, which will burn your toast at the full toast temperature. In addition, the minimum setting is easily overshot when you're in a hurry to get to work in the morning. You can adjust browning by adjusting the oven temperature, but even so 6 minutes minimum is waay tooo long for toast. If Oster included a simple 3 minute toast button, this would be an all around winner. On the plus side, the unit is roomy enough to prepare the larger meals I planned, though we have only been using it for toast so far. It really is tall enough to fit a full chicken for baking. That said, this will likely be returned, because I don't have the counter space for this unit and a toaster. (Not many reviews on amazon.com on this item. Go to [...] for more reviews.)

(More customer reviews)First, let me respond to a few poor reviews that made me a little concerned about purchasing this blender. One reviewer said "The little plastic "plug" in the lid fell through into the blender as I was using it". He may have gotten a defective one, but the one that I got would have no realistic way for the plastic "plug" to fall through the hole in the lid. It is very well made and would have to be forced VERY HARD for it to even have a chance of making it through - regardless of the angle at which you put the plug. Another reviewer said "the one I received had a jar that did not sit comfortably on base." Again, if that happened I hate it for that guy. The jar I got sat on the base quite well. Another reviewer said, "You CANNOT get your goods back out of this thing without making a mess." The blender I got is very easy to pour from.
Now let me tell you how awesome this thing is. I had a Hamilton Beach blender for a few years that did okay. It would make smoothies and shakes, but would take quite a while and would ALWAYS leave chunks of ice that did not get blended. Even if I left it on for a full minute it would not get the job done. When I used this new Oster 6684 for the first time I made a shake the way that I normally do with some fruit, milk, and ice. After about 10 seconds I could not find a single chuck of ice in the entire shake. In two years with my old blender there were always chunks of ice - always. I could not be any happier with the Oster. Hope this is helpful.

(More customer reviews)Please do not confuse this model with other Oster blenders sold here and elsewhere! They might look the same, but are not! This is THE model we all have seen in Bar's all over the world, for many years. And for good reason. THEY LAST! And it doesn't cost $100 +.
It has a 500 Watt motor, and the all metal drive, which inserts directly into the blade assembly, is nothing like that of other (more cheaply made) blenders by Oster or Kitchenaid/Cuisinart, etc.
This particular offering is a fantastic deal. You get the the original, all stainless-steel container, a real glass (not plastic!) container as well, another smaller container, with the food processor attachment, that's perfect for salad dressings/sauces/nuts, as well as a pair of blades!
In short, if you want the blender professional chef's and bartender's prefer and use, this is the one. It will out-last two or three of the cheaply made, albeit more expensive, posers.

(More customer reviews)I'm giving this convection/toaster 5 stars based on it's performance at it's price range and class. You can spend 3-4 times as much on a professional countertop convection oven like the Franklin convection oven (Amazon ASIN: B000BQ0CP6) for $250 and get a better product. However, I've used both and by comparison I think you really get your money's worth with this product.
We've had ours for about a month now and use it daily. The results are amazing. I've made numerous frozen pizzas, a meatloaf, cookies, brownies, loads of toast and lots of french fries among other things. The oven performed quite well in all cases. There is definitely a little bit of a learning curve and I goofed up a few things before I figured out how to use it. I would definitely recommmend reading the directions and following many of the recommendations for rack and food placement. That is actually very important.
Some examples of "tweaks" are as follows: With brownies you need a lower temperature than the box states when using convection and you might want to use a combination of convection and regular baking for cakes and browines.
With chocolate chip cookies you want to go with straight convection heat and depending on the mix you use you'll need to tweak the cycle. Cookies bake in much less time but you can get abolutely perfect and uniformly colored cookies! No more burnt bottoms! For example Ghiardelli dry cookie mix from the box cooks a little differently than the frozen dough that comes in a chub, even though the baking instructions on the packages are about the same. As you might expect you can only make about 6 average cookies, or biscuits at a time.
The convection bake is excellent for making all kinds of frozen french fries that come out perfect every time. Spring rolls come out great. The oven has several pre-programed cycles, a light, a timer, and every cycle offers the opportunity to tweak the temperature and/or time. There is a nice light inside the unit that makes it easy to check food.
Other notes: When making toast be sure to follow the directions for setting the rack.
Major Plusses:
1. Holds a very consistent temperature
2. Does a very good job on many types of food - better than a conventional oven
3. Produces very uniformly cooked foods
4. Cooks many foods in less time
5. Bottom tray is easy to remove and clean
6. Easy to use

A few drawbacks:
1. It does not quite fit most 9 x 13 pans, but will cook 12 inch pizzas.
2. It does get hot and you need to be careful how you open it and where you put your hands.
3. It only comes with one shelf. I would like two shelves for making cookies.
4. There is a bit of a "learning curve" if you're not used to convection
5. The oven operated at a slightly higher temperature than what my oven thermometer reads, but it holds at one, even temperature very well and it was consistently about the same difference at all ranges from 300 to 450. I'm honestly not sure which temperature was more correct, the oven's or my thermometer's. Based on my baking, the oven may be running a tad hotter than it says but it's easy to adjust. I would recommend checking your oven, as they may differ.

(More customer reviews)I just bought this blender from Costco about 2 weeks ago. Its base is all black though, not stainless steel, and I love it. We had an Oster beehive for about 3 years and then the little metal part on the base that the jar fits over just broke one day. So I started looking at reviews for one that made smoothies really good and I was looking at the Oster Fusion, but then I saw this one at Costco that basically had the same features, at least the reverse blending mode. We have made shakes and smoothies in it with the frozen drink method and it makes them perfect without having to stick a spoon down in and mix it around (we had to do that with the beehive), I will update when I have had it longer, but so far we love it!!

Oster 4961 Ice Blade Review

Lately, the margaritas were coming out with chunks of ice, and I thought it was because the motor was getting weak. After reading the reviews, I decided to try replacing the blade rather than forking out for an entire new blender. OH MY WORD!!!!! It truly is like having a new blender!! The margaritas are so smooth... no more ice chunks! I don't care where it is made - it will renew your old blender. Highly recommended.
