George Foreman Family Size Plus Grills Review

I had wanted to get this grill for awhile, but was still a little leery of its merits. I finally bought it anyway, and so far, have been loving it! I anticipate that during the summer it will replace my oven.
I cook a lot of chicken, either in the skillet, or in the oven. With this grill, you don't have to worry about turning the chicken, watching it, etc. All I really do it watch the clock. The first night I had the grill, I made salmon fillets, and they turned out great.
While I love the grill so far, there are a few things to watch out for. The first time I cooked chicken, I overcooked it..you kind of need to play around with the times in the booklet enclosed with the grill. I also found that I needed to push the grease tray farther back (closer to the grill) than I initially thought. Also, it does get quite smoky, so it would probably be most ideal if your kitchen had some kind of window.
With cleaning, you really do have to do it while the grill is still warm, or it makes it a lot harder to clean off.
I've barely used my oven since getting this grill..in the summer it will be great not having to heat up the whole house.

Micro Grill Review

Micro Grill
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have had this product for 4 months now and I absolutely love it. I have made chicken breast, salmon, snapper, shrimps, steak and other things using this machine and although I was very skeptical at first I am proud to say that it actually works. The food is cooked and very tasty but best of all it is finished cooking quickly. Although the included cook book varies in cooking time, I find I always have to add a minute or two extra, for certain food, but other times I can minus a minute also. For example fresh chicken is recommended as cooking time 3 minutes, however I cook mine for at least 4 minutes, and frozen burger meat is recommended at 7 minutes however I cook it for 6 minutes and it is well done. So it all depends on your microwave and you using your judgement.Although I think the world of this product, I do have some negatives to add also. Firstly, the size. This product can hold two burger meats at a time and for other foods, e.g., chicken breast and steak I would only recommend cooking one at a time, or the food will not be prepared properly. So this con is major especially if you have a big family, however I guess this can be solved if you have more than one micro grill so that you can add more food the minute you take out the prepared one.Another negative, and this is by far the worst flaw I can think of and it relates to the size as well, is that when you grill certain foods like burger meat, the oil and juices that are in the burger meat naturally are released when being cooked so when the meat is finished cooking there is juice in the grill so that when you try to take out the micro grill from the microwave, you end up with oil and juice being spilled every where on the floor etc. This happened to me before, and most recently yesterday. I had burger juice all over my floor and my counter. However, I just cleaned it up and continued cooking. After all you can't expect perfection. I just wish that the manufacturer would release a newer version and make it deeper so that spills can be prevented.Other than that, this product works. I have recommended it to my mom and my sister. My mom already bought her self one and my sister is still in the "I want to wait until I visit you to see this product in action" phase.

Holy pronto - prep, Batman! Micro Grill, SAVE BIG! This transforms your microwave into a turbo-charged grilling machine that browns and crisps your favorite foods! The secret is the Micro Grill's patented heat-conducting grilling plates. Instead of the microwaves penetrating the food (often creating a rubbery texture), the non-stick plates use the heat energy, getting hot and searing like a conventional grill. With the included baking spacers, you can cook things like frozen turnovers and crescent rolls, too! It cooks frozen foods without thawing, in record time with better results. Its bottom grilling plate is designed to drain off excess fats and oils. A floating hinge allows for various food thickness. It's easy to clean with no plugs, no electricity, dishwasher safe. Ideal size fits most microwave ovens. 11 3/4"l. x 8 1/8"w. x 2 1/4"h., weighs 2 lbs., 7 ozs. Grilled foods at microwave speeds, often 3, 4, 5 times faster! Factory Reconditioned Cuisinart GR-4 Griddler Review

Factory Reconditioned Cuisinart GR-4 Griddler
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought the Griddler in February of 2005 and have taken care to ensure it lasts. The Griddler is heavy and sturdily constructed. It heats up quickly, and cleans up even faster. We have used it for panini, grilling meat, and toasting burger buns. The unit can be used either as a panini/grill press with the floating top or opened up to use as a griddle.
The base of the unit heats up and maintains temperature better than the top. This creates uneven toasting of the Panini or other items. It's not so much of a problem using as a griddle, since one side will simply cook faster than the other.
After a year the nonstick surface has started pealing off of the grill plates. I have never used metal on the nonstick surface and have taken great care to preserve the finish. Perhaps it is in the design or a fate of nonstick coated products in general, but the now I will have to take care not to get pieces of the nonstick surface in my food.
The Griddler comes with interchangeable dishwasher safe griddle and grill plates with a lock and release system that is intuitive to use. The plates easily release with the press of a button for cleaning. To place the plates back on the Griddler, one simply rests the plates in the groves located towards the rear or bottom and snaps the front or top into place. The plates don't consistently stay attached in the top section like they once did. It's very annoying trying to reposition a hot plate back into place.
On the surface, the Griddler has the looks and design to be a great product. Cuisinart has some bugs to work out to attain even heating and plates that last. If I were to buy a new panini press, I would not look to Cuisinart again. As a matter of fact, I now enjoy using a Breville 800GRXL Indoor Barbeque and Grill instead.
PROS:
Heavy and sturdily construction
Heats up and cleans quickly
CONS:
Non-stick surface does not last
Uneven heating

I have owned this product for over 6 months. It is awesome. I have yet to have to clean anything. I cook a lot of hamburgers, chicken patties, breasts, fish etc. Everything has turned out great. The bags are a little expensive but the saving in time, paper towels, soap the expense is worth it. I do think this is more a single person's item because there isn't a lot of room in the bags for two chicken breasts etc. I hope when mine wears out they are still making them.

Sunbeam 7530 Rocket Grill Electric Grilling Appliance Review

Sunbeam 7530 Rocket Grill Electric Grilling Appliance
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought my Rocket Grill about a week ago from the TV add. I usually shop Amazon when I see something on TV that I like but this time it looked so good I just called up and did the deal on the spot. I could have saved a few bucks had I gone to ...zon first and ordered on line.
Even so I am very pleased with the item to the point I wanted to share the experience with those now thinking of buying one.
To me the best feature is that just like the other reviews, there is no clean up. I figured that was a bit too good be true and it almost is. So far, the only clean up needed was to sponge off the lid. A very slight residue of oil will settle on the inside of the lid as the heated steam from the cooking process rises and passes through. The lid is extremely easy to remove so this kind of clean up is almost negligible.
Let me tell you, I've tried a bunch of kitchen grilling systems. There are those where I would set it and forget it, infra-red convection whiz-bang thingies with huge plastic bell shaped lid, toaster ovens of different varieties and a score of others. They all have their cooking gimmicks and most do a good job of cooking as promoted. BUT THE MESS they made always ruined it. Clean up took longer than the cooking did so after a few tries, those devices were stored and not used. Eventually they would be given to a family member (heh), sold or donated.
The Rocket Grill is a keeper and I will use it regularly. Last night I made two frozen filet mignon steaks today I heated up previously cooked rotisserie chicken, made some hot dogs and a grilled ham and cheese sandwich.
Haven't needed to wash a thing. The secret is in the parchment pouches into which the food is put and within which the food is cooked. Essentially all the grease, fat, spatter, etc is retained inside the bag. Nothing but the steam gets out. No spatter, no cooked on grease, no crumbs, no kidding !!! Nuff Said ... get it !!! You'll love it.

Parchment-paper cooking is a time-tested method used by chefs around the world. With this in mind, Sunbeam developed the Rocket Grill electric grilling appliance, which uses special parchment pouches to hold in all the juices and keep food moist and flavorful. Plus, the pouches channel fat and grease away from food to a reservoir at the bottom of the pouch for reduced fat intake. Enjoy grilled steaks, hamburgers, bratwurst, grilled-cheese sandwiches, veggies, fish, chicken, deserts, and more. To use, simply place food into the parchment pouch, place the pouch into the grill, slide the switch to the desired setting--fresh or frozen--and set the timer. The unit grills most fresh foods in 3 to 8 minutes and most frozen foods in 8 to 12 minutes, for a reduced grilling time of 300 percent--perfect for healthy, delicious meals at a speed that can keep up with any busy schedule. Best of all, there's no cleanup required. Just toss away the mess. Accessories include 48 parchment pouches, cooking tongs, and a recipe guide booklet. George Foreman 360 Electric Nonstick Grill with 5 Interchangeable Grill Plates Review

George Foreman 360 Electric Nonstick Grill with 5 Interchangeable Grill Plates
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have had 3 Foreman grills over the years, first I got the Champ for college, then I moved up to the Next Grilleration, and now its on to the 360. The 360 has really stepped it up a notch. The multiple removable plates make this grill the one to have I think. I have made a massive omelet and it turned out perfect. I made quesadillas and they turned out perfect. I made chicken and once again came out perfect and had the classic good amount of drippings. Every plate worked like a charm and cleanup was so much easier. than the previous models i think. I look forward to using this grill for years to come!
Update:
Okay run into my first issue and its a BIG one. For some reason the area made to hold the plates on have gotten warped or bent after their first use (assume it was after I had set it to its highest and had cooked some chicken). I'm not sure if its from the heat or what but the top plate will no longer stay in place!!! I locked the plate in place to cook some chicken, lifted it up 2-3 times and it was fine, but I opened it up once and the plate popped off and ended up falling to the floor as I wasn't about to catch the thing. The plastic handle shattered and now any plate I try in the top does not seem to sit right and pops off after use :( I'm not sure what to think at this point, I was really impressed at first but after this debacle I'm not sure what to do with the thing as its now junk if I can't put any top plate on without it falling off.

Five come included: two ribbed grill plates, two quesadilla plates, and a 1-inch deep-dish plate for pizzas, griddling, baking, and more. The appliance's appeal lies not only in its simplicity and countertop convenience, but also in its fat-fighting ability. The cooking surface can be adjusted from flat to angled in order to help channel fat away from food and into the built-in drip tray. Even more, its triple nonstick coating allows for low-fat cooking while ensuring effortless food release. The unit also provides adjustable temperature control, a "ready" indicator light, and a 1-1/2-inch floating hinge to accommodate thicker sandwiches or steaks. ManGrate 2G-1B-B Grill Enhancement System, Two ManGrates One Brush Review

ManGrate 2G-1B-B Grill Enhancement System, Two ManGrates One Brush
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Bought a set of ManGrates a few months ago and like others was skeptical at first, but I can definitely say they are great (almost said grate but couldn't bring myself to it).
The Pros:
Easy to set up - Aside from being heavy (they are solid cast iron and about 8-9 pounds each), they just lay on the grill and are ready to go out of the box
Grill marks - I love the look of grill marks on a steak or anything else. The grates give you nice lines and really give it that professional look
Taste - Speaking of professional like, whatever the grates do, they made my steaks and chicken taste restaurant quality. I am guessing since the grates keep the meat off the flame and cook it through the heat of the metal, that it keeps the good stuff on the inside and reduces burning the outside (I am clearly up on my technical grilling terms).
Durability - Its only been a few months, but I don't see any way these grates aren't going to outlive my grill. They are pretty heavy duty.
Cons
Need a little tlc to begin with - While they are really easy to setup (just put on grill), you should probably follow the recommendation on the box and put some olive oil or something on them the first time you use them. My friend that recommended them to me said the first time he used them, he didn't do this, and had some minor sticking issues. It cleared up once the grates got some oils and run off from the bbq (which actually makes things taste better over time) though and were fine from the 2nd time on.
Takes a little getting used to - Because they don't cook in the same way, your cooking times may be slightly different. Took me a couple times to get my times adjusted, but everything was amazing once I got it down. Though I am not the best griller, despite my almost daily use, so this may not be a problem for others.
Overall, I would have to recommend them to just about anyone. The price isn't bad and given how much they have improved my grilling, they are actually a pretty good deal. I know I plan on getting a couple more and am giving my father a set for Xmas. If you grill or are looking for a gift for someone who does, these are definitely a good buy.

Average Reviews:

I have a basic Foreman grill that was one of the first with the removable plates to make cleaning easier. I have used this exact same Foreman for grilling chicken and heating leftover food for approx. 3 years and purchased a 2nd for my other home. I love the thing. The new Foreman is certainly bigger than my prevoius unit, but oh is it ever versatile. Take a look at what I cooked and my thoughts on positives and negatives of this grill:
What I cooked:
Frozen Teriyaki Grilled Chicken Strips purchased from Trader Joes
Raw Turkey Burger
Frozen Chicken Breast
Quesadilla Cheese and Chicken
Raw Chicken Skewers
Costco purchased Chicken Dogs
Cornbread Muffins
Positives:
-Yes, I said Cornbread muffins in the same Foreman as Raw Turkey Burger! Not at the same time. The Foreman comes with a great manual that describes the times and temperatures for many, many different items-so it takes the guessing out of the way. Fish, Chicken, Red Meat, Muffins, Waffles, you name it!
-Because this Foreman has variable temperature it is extremely versatile and you can grill just the way you like it. This is a HUGE plus because with most all other Foreman's you must grill at one temperature and leave on longer or shorter. Getting the center of meat cooked or warmed could be challenging because of no variable temperature. No more!
-There is also a timer on this so you do not have to use a stove timer, or watch.
-You can tilt this one or have it not tilted and there is plenty of room for the "Mouth" to open for a variety of things.
-The cooking surface is 72" so it's big enough to get on lots of food!
-It heats up to 300 degrees in 5 minutes. That's fast!
-The removable plates are easy to clean-easier than a regular grill
-Food tastes to much better warmed with the Foreman the microwave! Very juicy.
-Amazing versatility with the new plates. The bake dish means you could do Lasagne, Calzone, etc. as well as Cornbread, muffins and more. Who knew such a thing could be done with one device?
-Perfect for a camping trip with a generator to give you more than a grill-but an Oven as well!
Negatives-
-This is bigger than past Foreman's (see dimensions on product) so you need a place to store it and every time you bring it out it is a bit hefty. Also, because there are different plates that come with it-those will need to be stored somewhere else as well. If you are limited in space-this might not be for you if all you need is a quick basic grill and Panini Press-style device.
-It is expensive. I think the more basic ones are about $45 and this one is triple that. If you are going to use the versatility of it or you are going to grill with this a lot vs an outdoor grill-it's worth it. For the casual user-too much money.
Overall, I love this new Foreman and sadly I am giving my old one to my in-laws. I love that thing, but I love this one more!

Sharp R-820JS 0.9-Cubic Foot Grill 2 Convection Microwave, Silver Review

Sharp R-820JS 0.9-Cubic Foot Grill 2 Convection Microwave, Silver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I acquired this microwave when I was moving to a flat with limited kitchen space, and my primary reason for the choice was that the Sharp model was multi-functional. Since I've begun using it, I happily have ceased to sing a requiem for the toaster oven, separate grill, and other items I was 'consolidating' in this purchase.
I have used the Sharp microwave for grilling and roasting, as well as normal microwave functions, and the results are better than I could have expected. Grilled and roasted foods are extremely tender and juicy - at least of the quality one could expect from a conventional oven. I have had similar success with cooking vegetables.
Reheating muffins and breads has amazing results - they seem fresh baked and, unlike breads normally heated in a microwave, do not harden in a minute. I have used the convection feature for preparing breads, and had especially stunning results with preparing a frozen chicken pie. I suppose the surrounding air from the convection oven was the reason, but it seemed like a fresh-baked meat pie.
There are a few drawbacks, which would not compromise my five star rating because of the great versatility and high quality of the unit overall. The 'auto' roast, defrost, and grill features are very convenient, as is the prompting (telling one when to turn over the meat, for example), but they are very limited in the weight restrictions. For example, if one is defrosting ground meat, it has to be a certain weight - significantly more than that of a single hamburger. Though grills and roasts would mostly fit in to the specifications, this is a drawback for defrosting, where one must estimate times and key them in manually.
Another difficulty I have experienced, when grilling on the rack, is that drippings which fall either on to the carousel tray or a pan placed under the meat can become badly burnt and baked on. This was slightly disappointing for my intentions of preparing gravies on the side. My single attempt to do so meant I had to soak the pan overnight and then scrape. The grilling results are wonderful, as far as the effect on the meats, but there is a great deal of smoke generated. Whenever I grill, it sets off the smoke alarm - probably best to roast, then only grill at the end.
I would advise anyone purchasing this microwave to read the manual in full. The capabilities will not be realised otherwise. I actually use the unit less for 'standard microwaving' than for its other features.
One further comment: the Sharp microwave cookbook, which is advertised in the manual for the unit, is useful but not specific to the multi-functional machine. It contains only microwave recipes - none for grilling, roasting, or convection.
Overall, and considering that it can replace several appliances, this microwave is an extraordinary value.

With 1500-watt "double" grills that emit heat over and under food, this 900-watt convection microwave oven provides both browning and crisping capabilities. Other highlights include a two-line 12-digit interactive display with easy programming steps, cooking hints, and special options; an interior light, and an easy-to-clean design.
