Black & Decker FC350 InfraWave Speed-Cooking Countertop Oven with Rotisserie Review

This oven only does slightly better than a typical rotisserie or toaster type oven. If you are broiling a steak, unless you like your meat well done, you should start with frozen meat in order to get a browned surface with a pink center. The recipe book that comes with it only has a few examples and the pre-programed selections do not accomplish a proper product without adjustments to the time. It has a setting for rising crust pizza (like DiJourno) which starts with 14 minutes. A regular oven is 22 to 25 minutes. At 14 minutes, the pizza had risen but the crust was still very soft and the cheese was not even browned at all. I added time, and ended up at over 20 minutes with a pizza that was too soft and floppy. The same with frozen french fries. I expected a web site that would give more direction in how to use the oven but all the B & D web site has is the recipe book in pdf form.
As far as the rotisserie, the oven is not really big enough to even accomodate a medium sized chicken. I did do a small pork roast which came out nicely done. But it had to be a small roast to not touch the element guards. For the price, I was rather disappointed.

Unlike conventional or convection ovens, this state-of-the-art countertop oven uses infrared-light technology to evenly cook the inside and outside of foods simultaneously. Superior browning and crisping capabilities seal in flavor, whether cooking meat, poultry, or fish, and toast comes out perfect every time. The appliance cooks up to 50-percent faster than a conventional oven, with no pre-heating or thawing necessary, making it possible to pull dinner out of the freezer and have it fully cooked and ready to serve in no time. In fact, many dishes can be cooked in 20 minutes or less. There's also no need to worry about what temperature to cook at since the intelligent profiling system cycles the cooking lights according to the type of food being cooked. The oven provides a control panel with an LCD screen and 65 digital pre-settings for one-touch ease of use. For example, select from functions including pizza, quick foods, cookies, toast, reheat, bake/roast, or broil, and the digital display allows for scrolling through a variety of detailed choices. It also comes with a rotisserie spit and setting for rotisserie cooking poultry. Best of all, the units convert menu lets you enter the temperature and time for a favorite recipe, then automatically converts it to InfraWave time. Accessories include a dishwasher-safe broil rack and bake pan, a removable crumb tray, a handle to pull the trays out, and an instruction manual. The 1500-watt countertop oven with rotisserie measures approximately 14 by 13-3/4 by 10 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

Black & Decker TR1400SB 4-Slice Stainless-Steel Toaster Review

I was hesitant on purchasing this toaster since there are not many reviews yet. We received it yesterday afternoon. It looks very nice and is built pretty well. The retractable cord is useful feature.
The setting are very strong. I put a slice of whole grain bread to toast on level 3 and it came out very nicely toasted. Start your toasting with a very low level and work your way up.Update: After a few days, I noticed the settings on one side stopped working. I had it replaced by amazon in three days! This new one works great and the retractable cord actually retracts all the way (like in the picture). I'll still keep it at 5 stars since I probably had a lemon for the first one.

Housed in brushed stainless steel with black accents, this high-quality toaster not only looks good on the kitchen counter, but it also toasts bread to perfection--and up to four slices at a time. The unit's extra-wide, self-centering slots can accommodate a variety of items, including bagels, buns, English muffins, and thick slices of homemade bread. For added convenience, its two separate independent electronic controls make it possible to use only one side or the other, or to toast two individual orders simultaneously like bread on one side and waffles on the other--great when trying to get the family out the door in the morning. Choose bagel mode for warming the outside and toasting the cut side of bagels; defrost mode for toasting items like frozen waffles, toaster pastries, or toaster hash browns; reheat mode for warming without toasting; or the cancel function to end the session at any time. Turn the knob to select one of six browning-control settings, from light to dark. Other highlights include backlit function selectors, an extra-lift toast function, an auto-eject removable crumb tray, and a retractable power cord. The four-slice toaster measures 10 by 12 by 11 inches and carries a two-year limited warranty.

KitchenAid Black 2-Slot Toaster 4-slice Review

KitchenAid hurts its brand name for each day this product is on the market. Here's the good news: The soft rise feature seems to work well for me; toast is easy to remove. The bagel function works well for bagels and hamburger buns. I have to change the darkness setting for different bread types (sandwich slices, buns, bagels, etc.), but I expect that, so it's ok. The digital setting knob is convenient because you don't have to guesstimate the correct setting. The bad news: The thing won't toast consistently. Almost every day, I wake up and load the toaster with two refrigerated bagels (4 sliced halves). It's always a cold start in the morning. I set it to brown on #6. The results range from moderately overdone to no browning at all. There's no excuse for it. As another reviewer has said, it also doesn't cook very evenly with 1 or 3 slices. Evidently, the radiant heat from the opposite side hits only one edge of the single slice and overcooks just that side. If you stick a single slice in the center of the slot, it gets even worse, because both edges will be overdone, while the center is underdone. I have to turn the toaster down one notch if I plan on running a second batch of toast. The Even-Heat System is bogus. I give this toaster an A for effort and an F for execution.

Breakfast is, after all, the most important meal of the day, so shouldn't it be treated with respect? Even in the dark of a mid-winter's morn you'll be able to see what you're doing thanks to the lighted control panel. Bagels? Frozen strudel? No problem, this toaster is designed to hold, toast, warm, and reheat.
